|
|
Requester: N/A
Description: One night about a week ago, the sky was crossed by a shooting star. Although rare, the event was no something completely out of the ordinary. However, soon afterwards, rumors that the star actually fell on the ground began to spread, followed by ones that promised great power to those who managed to get their hands on it. Yet, although the location where it supposedly fell was widely known, few people risked going there, because the place seemed to be cursed: those that went for the star always returned empty-handed and sick with an unknown illness and soon died.
The fragment of the meteor landed someplace in Earth Country. Although by itself not dangerous, it created an irradiated area about 3000 feet in radius around it, more so closer to the crater. Also, it heavily damaged the land within 2 miles radius, making getting to the crater extremely difficult, more so as one gets closer to it.
Whoever takes this mission is supposed make at least 5 posts getting through the "outer circle" (damaged but non-radioactive area) and then get through to the star, in the same topic.
An important detail is that the amount of RP time you have is limited, because the longer you stay in the irradiated area and the closer you get to the meteor fragment, the higher the radiation sickness you will contract. However, the closer you are to it, the heavier the damage to the surroundings is, which makes it harder to proceed, until a 300 feet radius where only a scorched wasteland remains.
In other words, I will evaluate the quality of everyone's posts and moderate how sick you get and whoever gets to the meteor first based on that. Obviously, the person who does it in the least amount of posts has the best chance to be there first
Shinobi Needed: Any number
Requirements: None
Training Points: 0
Fame: 400
Notes: Only the person who escapes with the star gets fame and permission to learn Kujaku Myouhou. This mission requires at least 2 people (not characters) to sign up before it can be started. I will be evaluating everyone's posts, but will only post OOC and between posting rounds
Name: Radiation Sickness
Requirements: N/A
Description: This person has been exposed to radioactive rays and has contracted radiation sickness. Depending on the amount of time they stay in the poisoned area, they will get worse and may eventually die. Lighter radiation sickness automatically heals over time, and medic-nin can treat that person to heal faster (requires "Saikan Chuushutsu no Jutsu - Fine Affliction Extraction" and "Shousen Jutsu - Mystical Hand Technique", RPCs only). While heavier levels of radiation also heal on their own, they kill the person before that is possible.
People heal on their own at a rate of 1 radiation point (measureless, but marked as RAD) per post. Medic-nin can speed that up by treating them. Having Fine Affliction Extraction removes 2, 4 and 7 additional points of radiation per post for the C, A and S rank versions respectively; having Mystical Hand Technique removes 1, 3 and 5 additional points of radiation per post for C, A and S rank versions respectively. With that said, radiation sickness is both contracted and heals level by level.
In addition to normal effects of radiation sickness, there is a risk of dying involved if it isn't treated in time. Every person has 200 "health points" (HP) that decrease each post based on how heavy their sickness is. It does not affect anything in addition to the normal effects of that sickness, but once they reach zero, that person dies.
The radiation sickness levels are as follows:
- Minor
The person loses 5% of their overall abilities. 10 RAD, -1 HP
- Light
The person loses 10% of their overall abilities. 20 RAD, -2 HP
- Average
The person loses 15% of their overall abilities. 20 RAD, -4 HP
- Serious
The person loses 20% of their overall abilities. 30 RAD, -6 HP
- Heavy
The person loses 30% of their overall abilities. 30 RAD, -8 HP
- Critical
The person loses 40% of their overall abilities. 40 RAD, -10 HP
- Fatal?
The person loses 60% of their overall abilities. 50 RAD, -15 HP
Note: This "special ability" is unique to this mission and is not affected by ANY factors that should play a role otherwise
