Megumi's complexion radiated a certain majesty as the light reflected off of the angles of her tanned skin and lightly tanned hair that she kept in one waist long braid. She had her hands behind her head as Nikko's training session re-ran through her mind.
They were at a stand off, each awaiting each other to make the first move. A gust of wind between them started the session, "Oh ya?" Nikko pulled out two shuriken and tossed them. Standing battle ready, she blocked both of them easy, and she saw Nikko running at her full speed...
"His first attack was taijutsu, although it was easily readible" she thought.
Megumi tossed him flying towards the tree. With the rush of adrenaline, he performed the kata while in the air. As soon as his back hit the tree, there was a poof of smoke and a wooden plank was left in his place. There was silence.
"Then as a counter he hid himself."
Nikko hid himself in a bush, and began another set of handseals, and there were two Nikkos. Nikko one stayed in the bushes and signaled Nikko two towards the tree. Nikko two nodded stayed hidden, and ran up the tree swiftly. Megumi listened closely. The Nikko who was in the bush came out and showed himself. Megumi began running at him, but halfway, she saw another Nikko who seemed to have jumped off the tree and is putting all the speed of the fall into one very powerful blow.
"Ninjutsu used as a trick. He has the mind of a much higher rank, if only he knew how to use it. I cant think of any other genin to be able to come up with an idea with such a simple technique."
before she could find where the other Nikko went off to, there was just one feather that quietly drifted down behind her, and she felt herself get groggy, the same feeling she had felt before. Her eyelids became heavy, she felt herslef wanting to fall asleep, but she raised up her hand, "Kai!"
"His only genjutsu for now. His trump card. I wonder if I haven't known about it already, if he would've had me trapped..."
Megumi heard the wizzing of shuriken coming from beside her, and she quickly stepped out of the way, turning to the direction they came from, but before she could do anything, she felt something slightly pierce her back
"Then when the genjutsu didnt work, he resorted to traps. He threw the shuriken with wire, and pulled them back. Too simple."
Megumi's celestial order vest allowed her only a scratch, and ahead of her she could see the hint of invisible wire. She ran over there, pushed aside the bushes, but Nikko wasn't there. The string were tied to two shuriken, and the shuriken were held down by kunai stabbed in the middle of them on the ground, "Megumi!! What happened?! I thought I couldn't land a hit on you?!" Nikko was shouting from on top of a tree branch. Megumi turned around, "Gotcha!" she saw him pull two strings, and the two kunai that were stabbed in the ground were pulled towards her. She crouched with her arms out, the kunai missing her by inches, "What?! I had you!"
"Simple, yet it led me to another trap. He showed himself as a distraction, and when I turned my back on his little contraption, he initiated it," she turned on her side, shadow masking her face from the small hints of light coming from the window, "He is a potential genius. Just one thing."
She thought back to the very beginning of their sparring session.
"You're on!" Nikko reached into his own pouch, "And dont go easy!"
"...He's to eager. Jumps into fights without thinking, and his confidence precedes him. He could be killed before he even reaches his full potential as a shinobi," she looked out the window and witnessed the sky turning a different shade of blue as the sun peaked across the horizon. She sat up and looked at the clock which blinked "6:32 AM".
Flicking her hair so that the braid was supported over her left shoulder, she dressed into a longsleeve fishnet top, then covered by a light blue shirt. She slipped into her kunoichi leggings, and lastly, her celestial order vest was hung on the wall. She grabbed it and pushed her arms through before flicking her hair back behind her. Now is the time to put Nikko through real training, specialized just for him. Her time for analysis was over. She plans to push her little brother to become the genius he is. _________________ Roleplaying Characters: Otamai, Jun Nikko Coloso Ikego Yokosuka Noko-ido, Minari RPG Stats: Shinobi Rank: C-Genin/C-genin/B-genin Village: Kirigakure/Konohagakure/Iwagakure Fame: 200 Reputation: Training Points: 85 Inventory:
Nikko yawned as him and Megumi walked down the familiar path of Konohagakure. Not too many people were out and about that morning. His excitement to begin training overwhelmed his curiosity of how he was about to do it. He had complete trust in his sister and the plans she had for him, so for the majority of the walk, he kept silent, contemplative, anxious to begin.
Megumi felt the need to break the silence, "You better not whine about what you gotta do today."
Nikko was walking with his hands behind his head and eyes closed. He slightly opened his right eye to face Megumi and retaliate, "You better not whine if I surpass you."
Megumi stopped in her tracks and looked at her brother in awe, wondering if she should really take on that statement in all seriousness, or just as a joke. Nikko has done nothing but impress her these past couple days, and quite frankly, she wouldnt be surprised if he does surpass her over time. They made it to the tree scarred by the tracks of their tree climbing session.
Megumi, who was ahead of him by a couple of steps, stopped and turned to face him, "Any shinobi who rushes head on in a fight, without knowledge of your opponents capabilities, is stupid. And I noticed that this is what you do, 'throw the first punch'. This what I want you to do today. You can consider this punishment for rushing in and maybe change your strategy, or you could take it as preparation to rush in head on if thats how you prefer to fight."
Nikko looked away, obviously to think about it, but Megumi continued refocusing his attention back on her, "You could think about it during today's training. First thing i want you to do..."
Megumi proceeded with a set of handseals, which were completed in seconds, "Doton: Doryuu Taiga - Earth Flow River! A flow of mud began to form from underneath her foot, and towards Nikko. She saw as Nikko began a set of handseals but before he could finish them Megumi shouted, "Dont move! Your goal is to walk through my river, when you could reach me, then we could move on" She stomped her foot, and Nikko felt himself thrown back with incredible force. He was pushed back all the way down the hill, the destination, Megumi. When he reached the low end of the hill, the mud branched into a mini delta and he was laying right in the middle of it.
He pushed himself up, but just standing alone seemed a hard task. At the bottom of the hill, the mud was knee deep, he struggled to keep his balance as he forced himself upright, the mud pushing against his thighs. The mud can knock him over easily at any time if he loses concentration, "What power," he thought. He looked up at his sister, and began to make his way up the hill. _________________ Roleplaying Characters: Otamai, Jun Nikko Coloso Ikego Yokosuka Noko-ido, Minari RPG Stats: Shinobi Rank: C-Genin/C-genin/B-genin Village: Kirigakure/Konohagakure/Iwagakure Fame: 200 Reputation: Training Points: 85 Inventory:
He lifted his right leg all the way up out of the mud, and sinked it back in only a foot ahead of him. Next his left leg. Already he could feel his patience running out as he could tell this was about to be a long, terrible process.Next his right leg. Pulled it out of the mud, and he set it a foot ahead of him, beneath the thick oozing mass of earth, he could feel the hill slowly incline, he was about to start moving upward. Left leg, "So far so good," he thought. Right leg. Before he could even lift his whole leg out of the mud, the river caught him off balance and swept his left leg from beneath him, and he was pushed back down to the bottom delta.
"You gotta try harder than that!" Megumi shouted from the top.
With slight annoyance, Nikko began to make his way up once again, no quicker than the last attempt. He could already feel his leg muscles begin to exhaust, his calves feeling like they're about to bust from moving uphill against the mud forcing him down. His legs seemed to say 'give up' but he had to prove to himself that he was stronger than this river, no matter how long it takes. He needed to overcome this obstacle. Although at times, he relies on confidence more than brains, this time this was a situation that needed both.
Another step, and another. His arms were waving out from his sides to help keep him stable as inches felt like minutes. Making about the same distance he did his first attempt, he slipped and was channeled down back to the bottom of the hill. He stood back up. _________________ Roleplaying Characters: Otamai, Jun Nikko Coloso Ikego Yokosuka Noko-ido, Minari RPG Stats: Shinobi Rank: C-Genin/C-genin/B-genin Village: Kirigakure/Konohagakure/Iwagakure Fame: 200 Reputation: Training Points: 85 Inventory:
He could feel sweat drops make its way down his cheeks, and the river continued to flow from the bottom of Megumi's foot. She seriously wasn't about to stop until he makes it to the top, no matter how much it drains from the both of them. Nikko put in another 7 attempts, only to make it the same distance and slide back down, which wasn't even close to halfway up the hill.
He inhaled the chill morning air and exhaled a small fog, the mud that was splashed up towards his upper body began to harden. He's seen specks of mud flying towards his face and it caused him to close his eyes, "This is impossible..." he thought. But as he left his eyes closed, it allowed him a better feel for his body and the mud pushing against him, he found a balance and stability. He began his next attempt, leaving his eyes closed.
He could feel the ground underneath him, when he lifted his leg, he could feel how high the mud was exactly, he could feel the effort he put into that step, he could feel how the mud rushes downhill, against his own balance when he stepped back in the mud. He opened his eyes, and realized he was making it so much harder than it really was. He matched his balance and stability into every step, and inched up the hill slowly, passing his last best distance. He was about halfway up the hill, when the incline became to strong, and he slipped.
As he was sliding down, he fought against the river, trying to find his balance once more. He had both feet on the ground, but the river pushed against him, adding more to the momentum of his ride and began sliding down face first. He felt as if his efforts were in vain as he reached the delta of the river. As he stood back up, he could hear Megumi's voice echo from the top, "If you quit now, you might as well quit as a shinobi!"
"Who said anything about quitting? Ima do this!" Nikko shouted back. _________________ Roleplaying Characters: Otamai, Jun Nikko Coloso Ikego Yokosuka Noko-ido, Minari RPG Stats: Shinobi Rank: C-Genin/C-genin/B-genin Village: Kirigakure/Konohagakure/Iwagakure Fame: 200 Reputation: Training Points: 85 Inventory:
Nikko pushed himself harder than both Megumi and her river put together. The next few attempts were at the middle of the hill before he was flushed down once again. Frustrated he stood up and tried again. In this case determination was key. He inched towards the middle of the hill, feeling the mud become slightly stronger since the hill was more vertical, gravity was working against him. He was at the middle of the hill once more, the same spot where he gets swept away. He stood there for a few moments, getting a better feel for the mud and the ground beneath him.
"That's it...its so simple..." He put his hands together and formed the sign of the rat, while channeling the chakra in his feet. With his balance on point, and the balance of chakra on his feet correct, he continued inching up the hill. Halfway, three quarters, he was almost there. Concentration led him all the way to the top, the chakra on his feet glued him to the ground beneath him, "Just....a few more...." Megumi was almost in arm's reach, he pushed forward, not wanting to release the kata in case the mud swept him off his feet and he'd have to do the terrible process all over. He was so close, he could see that Megumi was sweating, and breathing slightly hard, she must be in her own state of mind to keep the technique going for as long as she did. Just a couple of steps left, they were almost face to face. He stuck his hands out, and grabbed her by the shoulders, "What's next?" Nikko gasped, and Megumi acted as if she woke up from a nap. She fell backwards on her butt, and Nikko fell forwards, the technique was cancelled, and the task completed. They were both breathing hard.
Megumi spoke, pausing between words to catch her breathe, "It...took you...long enough!" She said, laying on her back. Nikko fell beside her, not even having the energy to speak.
"Good...job," she complemented. Nikko gave her a thumbs up and smiled, which looked kind of funny with him almost completely covered in mud while his teeth were pearly white. (OOC: lol outrageous colgate commercials...cleans a dirty mouth, no matter what!) Megumi looked beside her and saw Nikko's tattoo "Brave" and at that point in time felt as though it suited him well.
They both sat up, and Megumi reached for her bag next to her. She pulled out water bottles for both of them and tossed one at Nikko.
OOC: thats it for rank training....so if a mods online....can i get the points please?

Spoiler:
Name: Fruits of Hard Work
Requirements: Specialized style, must not have "True Genius", 5-point training
Description: All people are born with different. They have different looks, different intelligence and different skills. However, in every generation, there are always a few people who stand out. Not only are they more skilled than the average person, everything seems to come naturally to them. Of course, the world of shinobi is no different in this way: there are average people, failures and geniuses. Those not especially talented, however, have to work hard every day to hope to match people who are gifted by nature. Focusing on one skill, with enough hard work, they can surpass even the greatest geniuses in that area.
This ability removes the secondary style someone may have in exchange for greater mastery of their specialized skill. People with bloodline do not have a secondary style, and instead lose the privilege of learning bloodline jutsu as if their skill in that field was one step higher. In return, their skills in their focus ability grows considerably: 10% strength, speed, agility and stamina for taijutsu; 30% chakra pool, 15% hand seal speed and 5% chakra control for ninjutsu; 10% chakra pool and hand seal speed and 25% chakra control for genjutsu; 5% chakra pool and hand seal speed and 50% chakra control for ijutsu; 5% chakra pool and 20% chakra control for puppetry; 10% chakra pool and 20% hand seal speed and chakra control for fuuinjutsu.
OOC: why hasnt a mod come yet? its kinda hard to oblige to the rules if they arent doin their part to uplift them rite? _________________ Roleplaying Characters: Otamai, Jun Nikko Coloso Ikego Yokosuka Noko-ido, Minari RPG Stats: Shinobi Rank: C-Genin/C-genin/B-genin Village: Kirigakure/Konohagakure/Iwagakure Fame: 200 Reputation: Training Points: 85 Inventory:
